Meta-Technology Tree

To represent the various technologies, we will be using Empyrion’s built-in server options, unlockable in-game.  To unlock a given tech requires the permanent expenditure of mining cores.  Each player starts with five cores, which more cores discoverable as the game goes on.  In addition, cores can be ‘purchased’, once communications and trading routes are established with Terra.

The main page shows which technologies have been unlocked.

The game will start with the following technology levels in-place:

Communications

  • System-Wide Communications (Text, Discord)

Fabrication

  • Constructor-Speed: Slow (50% Normal Speed)
  • Blueprint-Factory: Unavailable
  • Block Limit: Active (see URL below)
  • Size Limit: 1  (see URL below)

Medical

  • Cannot use any re-spawn options except “Fresh Start”

Transportation

  • Standard construction. any HV, SV, CV, or Base, as XP/Level allows

Weapons

  • Standard weapons [50% Normal Damage]

TECHNOLOGY UPGRADES

Each Upgrade or Installation takes a number of cores to activate.  Some Upgrades can happen twice, for greater effect.  For example, the first level of Upgrade may cost 3 cores, the second an additional 5 cores.  Only Installations can be ‘destroyed’ in-game, technology Upgrades cannot.  Cores can also be used for their intended effect, to build Autominers.  Cores placed into Installations CAN be removed, and repurposed.  However, the Installation will cease to function until the cores are replaced.  Cores can be found, purchased, or traded for, as the game progresses.

Communications

  • Installation: Ansible Platform (Establishes communication with Terra) – 3 Cores
  • Installation: Trading Station (Enables buying and selling with Terra) – 3 Cores

Fabrication

  • Upgrade: Constructor-Speed
    • Improved Construction Speed (Normal Speed): 3 Cores
    • Maximized Construction Speed (150% Normal Speed): 5 Cores
  • Upgrade: Blueprint-Factory
    • Factory Enabled (Stock BPs): 1 Cores
    • Factory Memory Upgrade (Any BP): 3 Cores
  • Upgrade: Size Limit
    • Improved Datalink (+1 Size Class): 1 Core

Medical

  • Upgrade: Spawn Near Death
    • Nanoressurection Protocols:  3 Cores
